Beginners Obedience Group Dog Training Class

This 8 week foundational group class is the perfect first step for any dog over 6 months old! Whether your goal is better manners at home or to build toward advanced obedience, this class will give you and your dog the tools to communicate clearly and effectively. You’ll learn all the essentials of obedience, including sit, down, stay, recall, place, and heel, as well as how to teach your dog to perform these skills reliably around distractions and other dogs. Handlers will also gain a strong understanding of marker words and release commands—how to use them correctly to make training clear, consistent, and rewarding for your dog. In addition, you’ll be introduced to luring and free shaping techniques, which help your dog learn new behaviors confidently and willingly. By the end of this class, your dog will have a solid obedience foundation, and you’ll have the knowledge and skills to continue progressing as a team both in and out of class.
